Hello 2018... My New Years Resolutions

Happy 2018!!! I have a lot of personal and a professional goals I’m trying to achieve this year, but I also am really trying to simplify and not overwhelm myself. I always feel so inspired when I talk with my girlfriends about their hopes and dreams and goals they’re working toward! I’m a firm believer in surrounding yourself with those who bring light, love and laughter in to your world.

First, I’m starting the year off by taking this week to just settle into the New Year. Nick and I spent all of the holidays with family so we needed a week to just unwind and get back into the groove.

Personal:

Health: I know I feel like a broken record every year when I say ‘I want to be healthier” I have lost count to be honest. But, this year it’s different it no longer is a want versus a need! I plan on following this amazing program called Les Mills its on demand workouts that change everyday. I’ve tried so many that I realize I just need different every day to combat boredom.
Earlier in 2017 I tried Whole30 and was so unsuccessful, that I realize I need to just get back to my bare bones. I promise to post more on that later as I’m going to be making my health my top priority.
This one falls under mental health I guess. Self love. Loving myself, not comparing myself and embracing my weaknesses and strengths.

Date Night with Nick once a week. It’s so easy to get into a rut of just doing the daily motions that we forget about our relationship. It was something we as a couple have decided to make a priority. To spend time with one another every day phone free and away from any distractions. We don’t have any children but with two dogs we have to find a way to balance it all.

Practice Grace. I find it so hard to do this. I tend to be so forward with my words and thoughts that sometimes it doesn’t end well on my side.  I have the patience of a saint especially when it comes to children, but I can always practice grace.

Professional:

Currently I am a full time Nanny and when I say I LOVE my career I do. This isn’t a job anymore and hasn’t been for the past 5 years. I work for a family that I adore and love. Being able to watch their children grow up and see the hard work you do is an amazing feeling.
When I attend blogging events and tell people what I do they are always so curious. So this year of 2018, I plan on shedding some light onto a world that is very unknown and doesn’t have set guidelines.

For some time now I have made bows and children’s clothing on the side. Nothing too crazy, but this year I have decided to throw myself into it and allow myself to watch it grow. I have so much fear and anxiety that I would fail but if I do I do. Nothing ever comes from ‘a what if’.

Ok sorry for the novel of a post! I would so love to hear some of your goals for the New Year. I always find it so inspiring and motivating!

  5. Would definitely be awesome for you to share more about your career as I'm in the dark too. It's so hard to set date nights these days with my husband and I both on rotating rosters but we definitely have to work harder on this. Wishing you an awesome 2018!
