Print Mixing \\

Happy Wednesday Y'all
Halfway through the week.
How are we all doing?
Are you having a pretty easy week
or are you dying for Friday to roll around?

Chicago was lucky enough to get a little dust of snow.
Of course that could only mean one thing!

Vest. Old Navy. (sold out). Shirt. Old Navy (sold out) similar .Jeans. H&M. Boots. Hunter.

Snow Day!!
Just kidding :) I don't get those!
But, I did get a chance to play in the snow.
Totally worth it.

Theres is something I love about snow.
The earth feels a little warmer,
at least it does to me.
The fact that snow sparkles,
I love sparkles.

Possibly my favorite reason is it gives me a
reason to have a snowball fight!
Nothing is more fun that throwing snow at the ones you love.
Especially if at first they don't
want snow thrown at them.
After the first snowball,
they always seem to warm up.

Do you love snow as much as I do?
Or is it just me?
Wishing you a great rest of the week.

Weekend Basics \\

Happy Monday!
I hope your weekend was great!

Jacket, Sweater & Booties all Old Navy but no longer available.
This jacket is similar. This is close second to my sweater. These booties are pretty close too.
Boyfriends jeans Zara old. Loving this one & this one. Scarf Zara old Purse old but I love this one.

Once Friday rolls around I get so excited for the weekend.
I always think of all the fun things I am going to do.
I'm sure if you are a full time worker bee like me
than the weekends are filled with catching up and errands.

I actually have no problem running errands,
in fact, I do enjoy them.
Especially if I have a Starbucks in hand.
The weekend was no different and that is okay.
Sometimes the routine is so worth it.

Cheers to a great week.
So tell me how was your weekend?!

Pink Moto Jacket \\

Happy Wednesday Y'all
Let me quote Mean Girls when I say,
"On Wednesday's we wear Pink"

I saw this jacket and immediately fell in love with it.
I also wasn't really willing to pay full price for it,
so I took the risk and waited.
Patiently waited for it to go on sale,
and when the jacket finally did I snagged it!

Jacket (old) I got it at a boutique in Chicago. I'm loving this one as well. Lip Shirt H & M not available online but this one is very similar. Leather pants made by yours truly & purse designed by me.
Sometimes waiting is worth the risk!
Case in point this jacket.
I am just so in love!!

The best thing about a moto jacket is
it inspires me to cross over to a more edgier side of my closet.
I have to admit though,
this style is growing on me,
now here is to wishing I bought it in other colors!

How do you style your moto jackets?!
Are you a little more edgier?
Or do you mix it up with some girly touches!

P.S. Have you seen this video.

One word.
Dope

I'm so excited to work with them this year!
Stay tuned....

Faux Friday Fur \\

Happy Friday Y'all

I hope you had an amazing week!
It was a short one for me but still jam packed.

I've had this vest for over a two years now
and I've worn it so much I'm surprised it's held up.
Especially since I bought it from Hot Topic.
Yes, you heard me correctly Hot Topic.

Turtle Neck. (old) H&M. Vest. (old) Hot Topic. Jeans J Brand. Shoes. Coach (on sale too) Purse Tory Burch was gifted but you can get it here. Belt (old) F21

I was in there to buy a present as a joke
and saw this vest and couldn't believe my eyes.
I quickly grabbed my size tried it on a purchased it.
The best part about this faux fur vest, it has pockets!

About shopping out of your comfort zone.
When shopping out of your comfort zone you have to know what your doing.
(I am by no means an expert, but I'm pretty much a pro now, lots of mistakes made along the way)
Trust Me!

I decided I would share my two rules I live by
when shopping out of my comfort zone.
This is all learned experience,
and has really helped me of the years avoid certain stores
and gravitate towards others.

1. Don't be biased.
For a long time I was set on certain stores
and never ventured anywhere else but those stores.
Until one day,
I walked into Hot Topic as a joke and found this faux fur vest.
Total score which made me think what else is out there.

2. Shopping the children's department.
Don't always just hit the little girls side,
wander to the little boys you never know.
This really only works for shorties like me.
(sorry all you tall beauties out there)

So now I don't just scurry past stores like Hot Topic,
or deny the children's department.
I walk in because you never know what you may find.

Until Monday...

Sweater Weather \\

Happy Wednesday Y'all

I've had the past two days off from nannying it's been nice,
but I am so ready to be back in my routine.
I'm sure she misses  my crazy games, silly faces
and stories!
At least I hope she does :)

Shirt. ASOS. Sweater. The Limited. Jeans. Gap. Necklace (old ) JCREW.

I got this sweater almost two months ago.
I know right...
It just sat there folded so nicely in my closet.

About folding your sweaters...
Rule of thumb in Jessica's clothing rule book.
(not an expert by any means, but I do know some stuff)
Sweaters should be folded,
if you notice
most stores fold the delicate ones,
and hang the more sturdy ones.
(I really think all sweaters should be folded, but that's just me)
If you could fold your sweaters,
you really should.
It keeps the integrity of the fabric.
Just a little tip.

Once again I couldn't decided when to wear it.
How I wanted to style it.
Should I save it for a night in?
Or wear it out on the town?
Big mistake I wish I would have worn it sooner.
This sweater is so cozy and warm,
regretting not pulling it out sooner.

Being petite it's hard to not get swallowed
in the whole oversized sweater look.
But this sweater fits just right,
long enough,
 form fitting enough,
I am not engulfed in its fabric.

I really hope sweaters like this don't go out of style anytime soon.
Because I really liked this one.
A Lot...

Liebster Award \\

Happy Monday Y'all.

It's a wonderful day, I have such an exciting week planned for you I hope you stop on by later this week.

This normally would be a motivational post, but on Friday I was nominated for the  Liebster Award  from the lovely Kyla from Ky Marie C. I am completely flattered in every which way.

The Liebster Award is given to bloggers with under 200 followers on any individual social media platform from fellow bloggers. In order to accept the award, the nominator will provide 11 questions about you and your blog that you must answer.

Here goes nothing!

1. How did you decide on the title of your blog?
I went back and forth a lot on the title. I knew I wanted it to be about me being petite, and when I was younger I used to write a lot. I used to write about anything, a boy I liked the usual and of course I kept them in a diary. Combined the two and here we are. The Petite Diaries.

2. What made you decide to start your blog?
I've been a big time blog follower for a long time. I watched so many bloggers from there early days and realized I could do that. I want to do that. Now... How do I do that? So here we are; blogging.

3. What is your favorite food?
This is such an unfair question!! Being a vegetarian, I love about anything I can have!
But if I had to say anything I would say raspberries.
I really do love that berry.

4. Where is your favorite place to shop?
I would have to say I love to shop at boutiques. I don't have a favorite because living in Chicago there are so many! Hard to just choose one.

5. If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be & why?
If I could go anywhere I would love to go to Italy. I used to say for a long time I could never leave the country, but I would love to visit Italy.

6. What's your favorite pastime other than blogging?
Sewing. I really love the act of sewing, cutting, draping the whole process. It really makes my day, even if all I do it cut the pattern. I feel accomplished.

7. What's your favorite post you've written & why?
My favorite post thus far would have to be my first Monday Motivation Post. I was comparing myself to all those bloggers around me; especially on Instagram & Twitter. I was beginning to be very sad and discouraged, but with one quote I felt better and realized this is my journey.

8. A long lost relative gives you a large sum of money, what do you do with it?
I would pay off my student loans! That was an easy one :)

9. What is your all time favorite movie?
My favorite movie of all time is Gone with the Wind. Something about a hoop skirt just makes me melt.

10. Where do you see your blog going in the next year?
I have big plans for my blog in the next year. I hope to be opening up a shop and selling my designs.

11. Where does your blog inspiration come from?
I am inspired everyday. But if I had to be honest, my design book, my fabric swatches and my clothes inspire me to start a blog.

Now it's my turn to nominate some lovely bloggers out there:
Jacqueline from The Principals Closet, Laura from The Fashion Bug Mackenzie from the Stylish in Suburbia, Christie from The Closet by Christie, & Sami from The Classic Brunette.

To accept your award you must:
Answer all 11 questions given to you, comment on this post with a link to your answers so I can read them, in your post be sure to link back to the person that nominated you, & nominate up to 10 other bloggers for the award!

I used the same list that Kyla gave me!

1. How did you decide on the title of your blog?
2. What made you decide to start your blog?
3. What is your favorite food?
4. Where is your favorite place to shop?
5. If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be & why?
6. What's your favorite pastime other than blogging?
7. What's your favorite post you've written & why?
8. A long lost relative gives you a large sum of money, what do you do with it?
9. What is your all time favorite movie?
10. Where do you see your blog going in the next year?
11. Where does your blog inspiration come from?

Thanks again Kyla for nominating me!

Black & Blue \\

Well we have made it!
It’s Friday
 &
it feels so good.
Doesn't it?!

I've been working really hard on learning this camera.
I mean who knew that a camera could be so difficult!
Phew...

Sweater. Nordstrom . Shirt (old) Jeans. H&M. Shoes. Coach. Mittens Target . Beanie (handmade)

I really can't wait to show you
all the hard work next week.

My pictures will be so much better.
Pinky Promise!!

Thanks for bearing with me through the blurry pictures.

I still think they look cute!

Until Monday...

#SnackHappy \\

Happy Thursday Y’all!
With the New Year already a week under our belts how are we holding up?

We haven't fallen off the wagon have we?
I know it’s super hard with those New Year’s resolutions.
Stick with your goals!
 We got this!

My number one New Year’s resolution was to be healthier.
If you missed it you can check it out here.
Being a full time nanny,
I have a jam packed day
between laughing, learning and play dates
sometimes it hard to find a healthy snack to grab when I am on the go.

When South Beach diet reached out
I couldn't pass it up the opportunity.
South Beach to the rescue literally!

They have these new Jumpstart Control Bars which offer these amazing benefits:
3 grams of net carbs
1 gram of sugar
6 grams of protein
7 grams of fiber
130 calories
NO artificial flavors, sweeteners, sugars or alcohols

My favorite:
Real ingredients including;
almonds, peanuts pumpkin seeds sunflower seeds and coconut.

Of course immediately opened the two boxes.
 Because
you have to try out the product...
Right?!

The Toffee bar is heaven in my mouth.
Think of your grandmother's homemade toffee; but actually good for you.

I was a little hesitant on the coconut ones,
because I never have been a fan of coconuts in general,
but that changed very quickly.
With just a hint it turned this non coconut lover into one!

These bars are part of phase 1 and are great throughout the rest of the plan.
If not they also
are just a little snack that is
good for your mind, body and taste buds.

I suggest the next time you're at your grocery store
grab these two flavors to try
at only $5.79 per box
why not right?

*Thank you South Beach for sponsoring this post
all opinions are my own*

Cashmere & Cozy \\

Happy Wednesday Y'all

Halfway There!!!
Woot Woot!

With it being about 3 degrees in the city,
 I wanted an outfit that
didn't feel as gloomy as the weather.

Sweater. Nordstrom. Plaid Shirt (old) Jeans. H&M. Purse. Michael Kors. Shoes. Coach . Necklace (old J.CREW) Headband (own design)

I've had this sweater for awhile now,
I really wanted to wear it a ton but was waiting.
I’m not sure what exactly I was waiting for.

Perhaps the perfect outfit.
Perhaps some inspiration.
But then I realized that cashmere is beyond cozy.

So I snuggled up in the sweater
Went outside and decided to play in the snow
I thought about cashmere and the snow for .5 seconds
The snow always wins.

I also realized this sweater needs to be in my rotation more.

Because cashmere is really that cozy.

It's the snow \\

Let me just start by saying
A huge shout out to a friend of mine in Michigan.
(girl you know who you are)
She encouraged me to invest in a camera.
She helped through the whole buying process,
called places asking specific questions
and was such a great cheerleader.

So I bought the camera,
watched close to 50 plus hours trying to learn the camera.
Thought I was doing ok,
 until I uploaded the pictures
and they are a
big
OL' BLUR…

(I blame the snow)
Sweater (old) Plaid Shirt (old) Shoes. Coach. Mittens & Hat. ASOS. Purse. Michael Kors.

But you know what I am okay with that this week.
I Skyped with her and she showed me the basics about my camera.
She was better than any other tutorial, or video.
What can I say,
other than thank you...

I am here to start off 2015 with
Thankful Tuesday.

So thank you Lindsey.
Here is to next week
and
pictures that aren’t a

big OL' BLUR…

Snow Day \\

I hope you all had a productive weekend.
It’s the first Monday of the New Year!
Can you believe it?!
I cheated a little bit this past weekend.
I know what a great way to start 2015.
I just can't seem to start a New Year’s resolution on a Saturday!
Kudos to you if you were able to.
I’m jealous of you :)

Coat. Plaid Shirt (old). Sweater. Purse  Old Navy. Jeans H&M. Boots Coach. Mittens. Ear muffs. (both old) ASOS.

Sunday’s are normally for snuggling
but this past Sunday it was snowing in the city.
Chicago man.
I decided to take full advantage of the snow.
I had such an amazing time shooting my outfits in the snow,
cold but a lot of fun.
There is something just magical about snow,
combined with the city it really is a perfect recipe.

One of my goals in 2015 was to blog better.
I'm still very new to this whole blogging world but I wanted to bring more to you!
I have so many wonderful things in store for the blog this upcoming year.

I hope you continue to stop by
are inspired by
 my love for color,
patterns,
 quotes,
 positivity
of course my designs.

So I leave you with a little
Monday Motivation
Go out and be amazing :)

Haute \\

Already we are day 2 into the New Year
doesn't it feel wonderful?!
Yesterday, I just spent the day relaxing and enjoyed having the day off.
I hope you all had an amazing day!
I took advantage of a quiet city and did some returns.

I recently bought this sweatshirt from Banana Republic.
There is something about a fancy sweatshirt I just love.
Dress it up or dress it down :)
I’m curious how many looks I can create with this one!
 Stay tuned...

Happy Friday y’all

Until Monday...
